Questionnaire - More replies

I asked women on the line two simple questions. How does it feel to be a business woman? How has your microcredit project helped you? Here are some of their replies.

" I love the independence and being responsible for my success (and overcoming failures). The support is a real help. The loan enabled me to buy a laptop computer"
Diana Cunningham, Writer, Norwich, UK
di@dinamic.freeserve.co.uk

"I want to expand my business. I have used the loans to buy shampoos and lotions. If I didn't have Sinapi Aba, I would have had to
go elsewhere and pay high interest"
Comfort Owusu, Hairdresser, Mpsiatia, Ghana

"It feels good to be in control of my future but sometimes a little scary too. Feel very proud to have 'made it'. The loan enabled
me to pay the first six months rent and
buy some equipment to get my business off the ground"
Claire Cross, Beautician, Costessey, UK
ralphfamily@hotmail.com

"I used the profits I made from my loan to pay for my children to go to school and to feed my family. When I grow old my children will be able to look after me."
Cecilia Abugre, basketweaver,Zorbesi, Ghana

"It feels really good to be a business woman. The project has me in all aspects of my business: bookkeeping, writing a business plan, customer care. Meeting interesting women in business has also been a big help."
Mandy Forder, Photographer, Frettenham, UK
Ladylou@supanet.com

"I started my business 10 years ago. I had no money, no apprentices. I heard about Sinapi. I like them. They don't worry you. You don't have to bring your father to get a loan. They believe you, no witness. I am going to buy my own stall. I don't want to rent anymore"

Chrisite Owusu-Ansah, Wedding Dressmaker, Bantana, Ghana

"It's a bit of a rollercoaster ride - wonderful when I'm working and being creative, scary when I'm waiting for the money to come in. Being around other women taking risks and taking control has been inspiring"
Michelle Savage, Filmmaker, Norwich, UK
